Recently Trained through IAP College. Have been working in Aged Care for a long time. We often don’t recognise soon enough that a person is needing to be palliative. I have had chance on night shift to sit vigils with the dying. I have been the right hand of the nursing staff when monitoring a person that is actively dying. I have often been in the room when the person takes their final breath. I have had lots of contact with their loved ones and have very good communication skills. I am often described as compassionate and knowledgeable with a “heart of Gold” I can do respite, support and vigils.
